Cori Bush Posts Her Thrift Store Fashion Show on Twitter


Missouri elected its first Black congresswoman, Democrat Cori Bush, who’s bringing attention to a very real fact Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has spoken about before — clothes don’t come for free. Bush acknowledged that it can be tough to shop for business clothes given the high price point and pink tax women must navigate. Bush is dressing for an important role she’s about to take on, so it makes sense she asked her followers for advice.

“The reality of being a regular person going to Congress is that it’s really expensive to get the business clothes I need for the Hill. So I’m going thrift shopping tomorrow. Should I do a fashion show?” she wrote on Twitter.
